RATED LOCAL PROS METHODOLOGY
How we rank local pros
Rated Local Pros helps you compare service providers using consistent, understandable signals. Rankings are informational and are not a guarantee of availability, price, or results.
Matched / Sponsored
Matching requests are a separate path from rankings. Any sponsored relationship is kept distinct from the ranking formula.
Rank v1 formula
Our current ranking uses three signals:
- Smoothed star rating to reduce volatility from small review counts.
- Review volume as a measure of customer feedback depth.
- 90-day positive review velocity to reflect recent customer sentiment.
Data sources
We use publicly available business and review information and refresh scoring as new data becomes available. We do not invent providers, reviews, or locations.
What you will see
Pages identify the market and service being compared, explain the ranking signals, and separate ranked information from matching or sponsored options.
What we do not do
- No pay-to-rank.
- No fake leaderboards.
- No hire guarantee.
How scores update
Scores can change when review history or business information changes. The formula remains consistent so comparisons stay transparent over time.
